# Repos: open-source data and AI projects, licenses and who runs them

> 44 open-source projects under the data and AI stack (DuckDB, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, Redis, Elasticsearch, Terraform, vLLM, PyTorch, LangChain and more): license and every relicensing, foundation, backing company, forks, stars and stars per week, latest release, by fru.dev.

For each project: the current license (SPDX; open source when at least one option is OSI-approved), the dated history of every license change with the commit that changed the LICENSE file and the company's announcement, the foundation that hosts it (from the foundations' own project lists), the backing company (with its companies.fru.dev registry slug), forks made after a license change (OpenSearch, Valkey, OpenTofu, OpenBao), GitHub stars with a weekly snapshot and stars per week, and the latest GitHub release. A weekly run (Wednesdays 13:15 UTC) reads GitHub and the foundation lists; every change is kept in an append-only history. Last successful refresh: 2026-09-24 22:59:00 UTC.

## About this data

Projects from GitHub (repositories, releases and LICENSE commits), the foundations' own lists and company announcements, refreshed every Wednesday. License changes are set by hand from a source; the LICENSE file is the text that applies. The list grows as new projects are added. Not legal advice.
